Katherine Albro Houpt

Katherine Albro Houpt received her veterinary degree and also her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. She is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. She specializes in the treatment of behavior problems of animals, primarily dogs, cats, and horses. She directed the Animal Behavior Clinic and taught at Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine, and in retirement she has opened Animal Behavior Consultants of Northern Michigan. She is the author of a widely used textbook, Domestic Animal Behavior (5th edition 2010), and frequently lectures nationally and internationally. She lives with a Cairn terrier, Denver, as well as an Arabian horse and a Swedish Gotland pony.
