Outdoor Adventures for Parents and Teens

CAU On-campus Summer Programs

Week 4: August 2-8, 2009

Outdoor Adventures for Parents and Teens

In this course, you and your teen will climb rocks, rappel down sheer walls, explore wild and secluded gorges, get caught out in the rain--and maybe even learn something you never knew about each other! Guiding you will be Todd Miner, the executive director of Cornell Outdoor Education, and his daughter, Liz, a high school student who teaches for COE. This bona fide father-daughter team has shared many wilderness adventures together and will provide both the expertise and the state-of-the-art safety systems to ensure your success. You need not be an athlete or have previous adventure experience, but this is a fairly rigorous program. You should be in good health and ready for action. The course is intended for one parent (or guardian) enrolling with one young person, age thirteen or older. Equipment, transportation, and facilities fee: $100. Please contact the CAU office if you have any questions about what will be required and for details concerning teen enrollment and the special teen-program fee.
