Resources for faculty interested in developing online courses

Interested in developing a quality distance learning course? The School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions (SCE) can guide you through part or all of this process.

We tailor our services to your needs and offer you ongoing support. We can even assume some of the financial cost of your venture.

We excel at assisting instructors, especially those with no distance learning experience, develop and deliver quality courses quickly, simply, and cost effectively.

Our comprehensive range of personalized services includes:

  • developing a credit or noncredit distance learning course
  • determining technological needs
  • producing the course
  • resolving copyright issues
  • creating a marketing plan
  • fulfilling administrative duties related to the course
  • delivering the course
  • improving your online teaching skills, and more.

Instructional materials for courses may be presented via the Web, assigned readings, e-mail sessions with course instructors, and CD-ROMs.

Courses developed through the SCE include American Studies, applied systems engineering, communication, economics, education, government, horticulture, and theater.

In addition, opportunities are available for faculty members to highlight their teaching and research on CyberTower, the online program series available at cybertower.cornell.edu.

We invite you to contact us now to learn more about how we can help you get started or take the next step. We look forward to talking with you.
