English for Non-Native Speakers/ESL

We offer two programs to help non-native speakers gain mastery of English:

  • English for International Students and Scholars (EISS), offered during the spring, summer, and fall, is a course for visiting scholars and others seeking improvement in basic English-language skills, with special emphasis on proficiency in spoken English.
  • Academic English for Non-Native Speakers (AENNS), offered during the spring and fall, is designed to help Cornell’s international graduate students succeed in their academic writing and speaking.
