Programs for High School Students

Summer College for High School Students

The award-winning Summer College for High School Students program offers talented high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors the opportunity to study at Cornell for one, three, four, or six weeks, earn an average of three to six college credits, take college courses with leading Cornell faculty members, explore careers and majors, attend admissions workshops, and much more.

The programs are a wonderful opportunity for high school students to experience college life, make some great friends, and prepare for the future. At the end of the program, students often say it's been the best summer of their life.

High School Seniors already admitted to Cornell

If you have already completed your senior year and have been admitted to Cornell, you can get acquainted with the campus and begin your college career in the summer. Take two regular Cornell courses (one of your own choice plus a freshman writing seminar) through the Freshman Summer-Start Program.

Area High School Students

If you want to earn college credits before starting college, take a couple of Cornell courses. Register through Summer College, Extramural Study, Summer Session, Winter Session, or Distance Learning.
