College admissions workshops

We know it can be tough making sense of a college search, so we've assembled a panel of veteran admissions officers from Cornell's Undergraduate Admissions Office (UAO) to answer your questions during special workshops designed specially for Summer College participants.

These workshops, which will take place on campus while you are here, will help you navigate and de-mystify the admissions process. AP classes, essays, interviews, SAT scores, campus visits, and the selection process are all open for discussion.

Workshop topics include:

  • How to make sense of a college search with a panel of veteran admissions and financial-aid officers to answer your questions;
  • Getting tips on essay writing; and
  • You get the chance to see what it's like to be an admissions officer and decide who gets in and who doesn't.

Be sure to read your Welcome Booklet, which you will receive when you arrive, for location, days, and time.

For more information about Cornell information sessions visit the Undergraduate Admissions Information Sessions page.

You might also want to visit UAO at 410 Thurston Avenue (telephone 607.255.5241)—it's a good place to begin to gather general information about the university. Group information sessions are held in the Biotechnology Building Monday through Saturday at 11:00 a.m.; June - August.
