The information on this site pertains to the Summer College 2009 program. If you would like to be notified when 2010 information and applications are available, please join the Summer College announcement list. We also invite you to become a fan of our Summer College Facebook Page.
Our application deadline was May 8, 2009. We are no longer accepting applications to the 2009 Summer College program. If you would like to receive an e-mail notice when we open applications for Summer College 2010, please join our e-mail list.
Important information for all applicants
Eligibility
Eligible students must have completed their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school by June 2009 (check individual programs for eligibility) and have the demonstrated academic ability, maturity, and intellectual curiosity necessary to undertake college-level work.
Summer College does not interview prospective students. Instead, we get to know you through your application statements and letter of recommendation.
Please check your program dates before applying. Missing any time during the program will put you in serious academic jeopardy. This includes arriving late, leaving early, or missing any class days. We require students to be able to attend their program in its entirety.
Application deadlines
See the "Application deadlines" page. We encourage you to send us your complete application as soon as possible to ensure that you get your first choice of classes. Only complete applications will be considered.
Admissions decisions
We make admissions decisions for all programs (except RABS and Veterinary Medicine) on a rolling basis, which means that we will review and act on complete applications as they are received. You'll receive notification of our decision via e-mail after we’ve received your complete application and reviewed all of your materials. RABS and Veterinary Medicine applicants will receive notification of our decision via e-mail by March 20.
International applicants
International applicants should check out the "International students" page for visa forms, information about TOEFL and IELTS scores, and additional resources. Please note: Cornell University requires that all non-U.S. citizens have a valid F-1 student visa. You cannot study at the university on a tourist visa.
New York State applicants
Occasionally Summer College and New York State Regents and final examination dates conflict. Unfortunately, that is the case with our programs beginning in June 2009. As in past years, we will be developing accommodations for you to take your exam(s) while you are at Summer College. For more information, please visit the New York State Regents Examinations page and/or the New York State Final Examinations page.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities, including learning disabilities and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, who will require accommodations, should check out the "Students with disabilities" page. Cornell University is committed to ensuring that students with disabilities have equal access to all university programs and activities.
