First, an important disclaimer: There really is no such thing as a "typical day" for a Summer College student, especially given the wide range of student schedules and interests.
However, because we're often asked what such a day might look like, we've compiled a list of possible activities a student might do during a day at Summer College. With our disclaimer in mind, you might:
- Eat breakfast at North Star in Appel Commons, an all-you-can-eat dining facility, located near your residence hall on North Campus.
- Check out the waterfall by Beebe Lake while walking to your morning classes on central campus.
- Learn something new while attending one of the more than 60 fascinating college courses open to Summer College students.
- Before lunch, stop by the Cornell Store, the library, or the Johnson Art Museum, or grab a quick game of tennis.
- Meet friends from around the world for lunch at North Star.
- Go to your professors' office hours before your afternoon class, if needed.
- Stop by an admissions workshop to pick up tips on getting into the college of your choice.
- Take a walk in the Cornell Plantations and/or hike along the trails overlooking one of Cornell's gorgeous gorges.
- Join in a game of basketball or volleyball, swim, hike, study, or just relax with other Summer Collegians before dinner.
- Attend an all-SC program or one in your residence hall.
- Enjoy dinner at North Startake advantage of the "Take a Prof to Lunch and Dinner" program and invite one of your professors to join you!

- Decide to attend one of the many free evening activities on campus with your roommate: a free summer concert; a lecture by a world-famous writer/doctor/lawyer, etc.; a movie at Cornell Cinema; a Summer College dance . . .
