The twenty libraries that make up the Cornell University Library spread across campus and extend to New York City and Geneva, New York. They are more than just physical spaces with rich collections. With ultramodern computing labs, wireless network access, cyber cafés, quiet areas for individual and group study, special events, and exhibitions, Cornell Library is an active, inviting center for information discovery and the celebration of knowledge. The staff, which includes more than 120 professional librarians, provides students with award-winning service, including workshops and one-on-one help, to navigate the global information environment.
At the same time, the Cornell University Library is available to you from your dorm room and anywhere else you can connect to the Internet. At the Cornell Library Gateway you can search the Library Catalog and a variety of electronic indexes, chat with a reference librarian, read an electronic book or electronic journal, use one of the Library's outstanding digital collections, view a library exhibition, and more.
To activate your library borrowing privileges, you must bring your Cornell picture ID to the Access Services Office in 116 Olin Library. Office hours are 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Friday. And while you're there, take some time to explore some of the wonderful things the Library has to offer.
