Drugs and alcohol
In accordance with New York State law, students in the program are not permitted to use, possess, or sell any alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs. Using a fake ID to purchase liquor can lead to your dismissal from the program and/or your arrest. Providing alcohol or illegal drugs to fellow students will result in your dismissal.
Students may not be present on any premises where liquor is sold or served (except restaurants if you are there only to eat) or any premises where illegal drugs are sold or used, nor are they permitted to be in, or even on the grounds of, fraternity or sorority houses. The program enforces these policies strictly. For example, any alcohol on your table at a restaurant will be grounds for discipline under the Campus Code of Conduct.
In past years a few students have, to our regret, spent most of the summer on early night-check-in because they could not live up to our standards on drugs and alcohol; some have been dismissed even at the very end of the program. If you are dismissed, you do not receive a grade, credit, or an evaluation for the work you've done up to that point, and you are not entitled to a refund. A student dismissed from the program will be prohibited from visiting North Campus for the duration of the summer.
A Word of Warning
Use of a false ID is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Possession of an altered driver's license is a Class D felony (forgery), punishable by up to seven years in prison, a $5,000 fine, and loss of the license. Do not use a false ID here.
