Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Felix Mendelssohn's prodigiously talented older sister, was prevented from pursuing a musical career—so she created a venue for her talents by hosting musical salons in her home. "An Evening with Fanny," a production of Music's Recreation, interweaves vocal and instrumental works performed at these salons with readings of letters by Fanny and other family members.
