Overview
This concentrated nine-week summer program is an unparalleled opportunity to learn first-hand about international business. It combines course work and real-world experience to help you explore the dynamic world of international business from the point of view of companies and investors.
Through living, studying, and working in the global finance center of Hong Kong, you will gain a fundamental understanding of how some of the most powerful multinational firms in the world make and implement decisions, how they interact with governments, how they gain competitive advantage, and what the risks and returns are in conducting such international business.
The program features:
- a three-week four-credit course, "Introduction to International Business," taught by David Ng, an award-winning Cornell professor in the Department of Applied Economics and Management;
- visits by distinguished industry guest speakers;
- a full-time six-week business internship; and
- the opportunity to explore careers in international business, develop professional contacts, and learn more about the markets in Hong Kong, China, and Asia.
The program is designed for undergraduates who will have completed their sophomore year or higher by June 2008 and for college graduates who are interested in careers in international business.
Because of the intensive and individualized nature of the program, enrollment will be strictly limited. There is no course prerequisite.
