Investment Management Program and Internship in New York City

Note: Although internship placements for this program have reached capacity, we are still accepting applications for a limited number of seats in the highly-regarded course-only portion of this program. We will put accepted students on an internship waiting list should any placements become available. Students accepted to the course-only portion of this program may also choose to arrange their own internship. Director David H. DaseProgram director David H. Dase is a Managing Director for the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co.

As head of Publishing and Information Services within the Goldman Sachs Telecommunications, Media, and Technology Group, Mr. Dase is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities for the firm and working with senior management teams and board of directors on key strategic and financial initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate defense activities, restructurings, leverage buyouts, underwriting securities, and derivatives.

His client list features more than 50 corporations and private equity firms, including Gannett Co., Inc.; New York Times Company, Dow Jones & Company, Thomson Corporation, Washington Post Company, McGraw-Hill Companies, Moody's Investors Service, Houghton Mifflin Company, Monster Worldwide. Inc., and the News Corporation.

On behalf of his company he has overseen such transactions as the sale of Knight Ridder to McClatchy Co., the sale of Houghton Mifflin to Riverdeep Holdings Limited, the sale of Primedia's Enthusiast business to Source Interlink Companies, a private equity consortium acquisition of Education Management Corporation, McGraw-Hill's acquisition of J.D. Power and Associates, the sale of About.com to the New York Times, the sale of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. to a private equity consortium, the sale of Vivendi Universal Entertainment to NBC, and the sale of Hughes/DIRECTV, Inc. to the News Corporation.

Mr. Dase earned his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School in 1994, and his B.A. in Economics 1989 from Cornell University, where he also served as quarterback for the varsity football team, shortstop for the varsity baseball team, and as a member of the Red Key Honor Society for his achievements in academics, intercollegiate athletics, leadership, and citizenship. Mr. Dase also serves on the Board of Directors of the NYC Outward Bound.
