Reading Rome, Writing Rome:
Creative Writing Workshop in Italy 2008
May 22-June 14, 2008
Courses
Creative Writing Workshop in Rome offers only courses that will count towards graduation for Cornell students and may also count towards a student's major, distribution requirements, or elective requirements. In some instances, the courses may also count towards graduation at another institution.
- For Cornell students, all credits count towards graduation and will appear on the transcripts under the heading "Summer Session/Special Program."
- Grades are computed into the student's GPA.
- Courses must be taken for letter grades.
- Undergraduate students may enroll for one English/Creative Writing course (3 credits or 4 credits). (Graduate or post-graduate students, please consult Professor Vaughn.)
- Additionally, students must enroll for an Independent Study course of either 1 or 2 credits. The Independent Study course may be English 4950 or 7950. Other classes are taught by guest lecturers who live in Rome and teach in the Cornell-in-Rome program during the fall and spring.
- Requests for particular courses are subject to availability, since some classes close out sooner than other classes, and the program as a whole is relatively small.
- Cornell students, please note: English 4950, if taken for four credits, and English 4810 may fulfill an English major requirement for 4000-level seminars; English 3830 and 3850 also may count towards the English major; English 7950 is open to graduate or post-graduate students only and only with permission from Professor Vaughn.
- All prospective students should consult with their academic advisors to determine how particular courses may fulfill requirements.
