Freshman Summer Start

June 21-August 5, 2008

Student life

Who are the students?

Incoming Cornell freshmen who choose to participate in the Freshman Summer Start program are generally highly motivated members of their class. They come for many reasons: those with more than one area of academic interest may be contemplating a double major; others want to lighten the heavy load required for graduation; and a few with advanced placement credit may be considering early graduation. Above all, they want to make good choices and get the most possible from their college years.

Special activities

The program also features a series of evening discussions with distinguished faculty members, who speak about their own specialties and help you plan your course selections and your career.

Lodging and meals

Program participants live together in a university residence hall with the teaching assistants. Students eat in a Cornell dining hall.
