The Executive Education program at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration is the world leader in management education for hospitality industry professionals. Our mission of Hospitality Leadership Through Learning is offered in a wide variety of relevant and up-to-date programs designed to fit the diverse educational needs of the global hospitality industry. The Cornell Hotel School’s world-renowned faculty members have spent their professional lives predicting and formulating effective strategies for managing change in this fast-paced industry.
The General Managers Program (GMP) offered January 14-24, 2008, and June 9-19, 2008, tackles strategic hotel management issues and helps participants find relevant and specific solutions. GMP's primary objective is to transform decision-makers into strategic thinkers. In this intensive ten-day experience, participants interact with a global network of managers and top Cornell faculty bringing worldwide perspectives to the classroom. Qualified applicants include hotel general managers, executive assistant managers, and resident managers or their equivalents in full-service hotels. GMP is also offered in Singapore, July 21-31, 2008, and focuses on the demands and challenges faced in the Asian hospitality market.
The Professional Development Program (PDP) allows industry professionals the opportunity to study and share experiences with peers from around the world. Seminars are three days in length and are led by Cornell faculty members and industry experts. Over forty courses are available in the areas of: Financial Management; Food, Beverage and Restaurant Management; Strategic Management; Human-Resource Management; Marketing; Operations Management; and Property-Asset Management and Real Estate. Additionally, by taking a specified sequence of courses, participants may earn Cornell certification in one of many career specialties. Courses are held on the Cornell campus in Ithaca, NY, June 26 – July 12, 2008; in Brussels, Belgium, July 10 – 23, 2008; and in Singapore January 7 – 19, 2008, and July 24 – August 6, 2008.
