Prefreshman Summer Program

June 19-August 7, 2013

Overview

The Prefreshman Summer Program is designed to help students prepare for the challenges of the freshman year at Cornell. Students must be invited to participate. Those admitted through special programs such as EOP (Educational Opportunity Program) or HEOP (Higher Education Opportunity Program) are required to attend.

Students generally enroll in regular summer-session courses; enrichment courses in areas such as writing, chemistry, or mathematics; and/or a college-achievement seminar. The actual course schedule for each student is determined by the student's college.

The program includes field trips, guest lectures, and a wide range of social and cultural activities. Participation is restricted to students selected by college or special-program offices. Students selected to attend will be notified by mid-April. Tuition and fees, and room and board charges for those selected are covered by the program.
