Human Ecology Urban Semester Program
June 1-July 30, 2010
Overview
This program offers students a unique opportunity to spend a productive summer interning in New York City and earning academic credit. Students register for one of the following three-credit courses:
- Human Ecology 4060, Fieldwork in Diversity and Professional Practice: The Culture of Medicine and Public Health (Students choose either the hospital-setting option or the public health option.)
- Human Ecology 4080, Fieldwork in Diversity and Professional Practice: Community and Public Service
- Human Ecology 4090, Fieldwork in Diversity and Professional Practice: Finance, Business, Law, and Other Settings
Students spend four days per week at their placement sites and one with their course instructor, taking part in planned and mandatory activities that include seminars, discussions with a variety of professionals, and site visits. HE 4060 students will meet with Dr. Sam Beck. HE 4080 and HE 4090 students will meet with Marianne A. Cocchini.
