The program is authorized to issue a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant [F-1] Student Status). For information about how to request an I-20 form, go to Step 4 on the Summer Session International Student page. Application prior to April 28 is recommended to allow time for visa processing. Students are expected to be present on the first day of the program, June 26. If you have exceptional reasons for arriving late, please ask permission of the Academic Director.
International student check-in
Upon arriving at Cornell, international students must check in with the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO). ISSO is located in B-50 Caldwell Hall. The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
International student advisors are available during ISSO office hours (except for a lunch break between noon and 1:00 p.m.) to answer questions on topics such as immigration, working in the U.S., obtaining a social security number, and getting a driver's license.
After you are admitted to EISS, you will receive helpful information for international students: "Coming to Cornell."
