MyCUSC: Create Your Own Summer College Program

Dates: June 24-August 8, 2017 (6 weeks)
Credits: 6-8 credits
Eligibility: current sophomores, juniors, seniors
(see eligibility requirements)
Status: This program is now full and no longer accepting applications.

Overview

This program gives you the freedom to design a Cornell University Summer College (CUSC) academic experience tailored to your individual needs and interests.

As a MyCUSC student, you can combine almost any two six-week classes on the Summer College website for your own custom program.

Depending upon your eligibility you can select two science classes, two humanities classes, mix and match courses, or blend subjects such as astronomy with Greek mythology, painting with sculpture, computer science with psychology, or any other topics from the more than fifty regular Cornell undergraduate classes on our website.

If your schedule permits, we encourage you to visit an additional course of your choice for a day or two. (To take advantage of this opportunity, stop by the Summer College academic office in B20 Day Hall to pick up a Visitors Program permission form.)

In this program you'll enjoy the same social and cultural benefits as other Summer College students, earn six to eight college credits, and work with Cornell faculty, all while completing an Ivy League program of study that's unique to you.

Courses

Select two courses for credit from the more than fifty on this website (see the six-week course roster).

Please be sure to carefully review the course selection guidelines on the six-week courses page.

Student experiences

"I experienced real college life and college courses, and I found that they were totally different from what I thought. Experience like this will help me adjust to college life next year. Also, Cornell's campus is the best campus I have ever seen, in both architecture and scenery. I enjoyed watching sunsets and starry skies on Libe Slope. Ithaca is a beautiful town." — Xinyi Huang, 2016

"At CUSC I gained a lot of knowledge on subjects and topics that are of essence to my field of interest as well as friends that I hope to keep in touch with throughout my life! Attend! It's an indescribably awesome experience that you will not forget." — Sergio Sanchez

"CUSC was an amazing experience that has prepared me for every aspect of college life and has helped me grow as a person. Everything I learned was fascinating, and I made some very good friends from all over the world. If you can, definitely do it. It's a fantastic way to get a feel for the college experience before you start applying, and you'll learn so much — about yourself, your coursework, and even other cultures. The experience was one-of-a-kind and has motivated me to work hard to achieve my dreams." — Maegha Singh
