Jordana Confino earns two awards for work with girls

Cornell University School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions, December 1, 2007

Summer College graduate Jordana Confino has been named a 2006 World of Children Honoree and a NOW 2007 Susan B. Anthony Honoree. Confino was honored as a co-founder (with Lisa Alter) of Girls Learn International, a non-profit organization that involves middle and high school students in the international effort for universal girls' education.

Confino was the youngest of eight honorees from around the world for the World of Children award. The World of Children, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is "to honor, illuminate and inspire action on behalf of children." The NOW Susan B. Anthony Award honors grassroots activists who have advanced the cause of women's rights or improved the lives of women.

Confino is spending this summer interning at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
