Admission to the program is on a rolling basis. Because enrollment is limited, you're encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Only complete applications will be reviewed.
The deadline for applications is January 2, 2019.
Email acceptance notifications are sent in early January.

- Major (if declared)
- Expected high school or college graduation date
- A one-page resume (with your full name in the header)
- All official high school or college transcripts to date
- A scanned image of proof of health coverage (the front and back side of your health ID card)
- A letter of reference commenting on your academic ability and achievement, seriousness of purpose, and suitability for a career in medicine
- A one- to two-page essay (with your full name in the header) describing why you want to participate in the program and what makes you special

Once you’re accepted into the course, you must submit a completed course enrollment form and domestic travel release, along with your full tuition payment of $4,380 by Friday, January 11, 2019, to Cornell University, School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions, B20 Day Hall, Ithaca, NY 14853.
Program costTuition for this program is $4,380, which reflects three credits of study at $1,460 per credit.
Medical clearance and permission forms
Medical Clearance Forms will be emailed to accepted students immediately after acceptance into the program.
Accepted students MUST submit completed Medical Clearance Forms no later than January 11, 2019, to participate in the shadowing portion of the program. Failure to submit this form will prevent you from participating in the hospital rotations.
The forms require physician information and signatures. Any irregularities, including not following the exact instructions provided, will disqualify the applicant.
High school students:
You must also complete and submit a signed parental consent form as required by NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where the you will be shadowing medical staff. This form will be emailed to you along with your Medical Clearance Forms.
Cornell credits and transcript
Students successfully completing this program will earn three college credits and a Cornell University transcript (provided upon request).
Housing, meals, and transportation
You are responsible for providing your own housing, meals, and transportation during the program.
To withdraw from this special program, you must notify the SCE registrar's office in writing. Your refund amount will be determined by the number of days from the start of the program that you withdraw.
Your refund amount will be determined by the prorated schedule on Cornell’s Office of the Bursar website.
If you want to appeal the refund schedule based on special circumstances, please download and complete the petition form and submit it to B20 Day Hall. The form will be reviewed by committee, and you will be notified if your appeal is approved.
