Harry C. Katz
Harry C. Katz is the interim provost at Cornell University, the Kenneth F. Kahn Dean of the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and the Jack Sheinkman Professor of Collective Bargaining.
As dean, Katz has been the chief academic and administrative officer of ILR, which has approximately 60 resident faculty members, 40 extension faculty members, and more than 1,000 students. He has overseen the school’s programs of teaching, research, extension, and outreach and has worked to increase the school’s international course offerings, travel grants, and exchange opportunities and internships.
Katz joined the ILR faculty in 1985 after teaching at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his AB and PhD degrees in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
