LATIN 4200 Living Latin in Ithaca

Course description

(summer only) This course is only offered in the Summer Session.

Living Latin in Ithaca is devoted to activating students’ passive knowledge of the Latin language. Mornings are spent in classrooms reading Latin texts of all time periods at sight and reviewing grammar. Afternoons are spent on site visits in and around the Cornell campus, where the landscape or museum objects become the basis for cultivating fluency speaking in Latin. Students will learn to read classical and postclassical Latin with far greater speed, accuracy, comfort, and confidence, without the aid of grammar books or commentaries constantly at their side.

One year of college-level Latin or its equivalent.

The next offering of this course is undetermined at this time. Find similar upcoming programs by tag: Ithaca, language
