CHEM 3570 Organic Chemistry for the Life Sciences

Course description

Study of the important classes of carbon compounds-including those encountered in the biological sciences. The course emphasizes their three-dimensional structures, mechanisms of their characteristic reactions, their synthesis, methods of identifying them, and their role in modern science and technology.

Students may receive credit for only one course in the following group: CHEM 1570, CHEM 3530, CHEM 3570, CHEM 3590.

Prerequisites

CHEM 2080 or advanced placement; or permission of instructor.

Corequisites

Recommended: concurrent registration in CHEM 2510.
