ENGL 3820 Intermediate Narrative Writing

Course description

This course focuses upon the writing of fiction or related narrative forms. May include significant reading and discussion of readings, explorations of form and technique, completion of writing assignments and prompts, and peer review of student work. Many students will choose to write short stories, but excerpts from longer works will also be accepted.

ENGL 3820/3830 counts toward the English major, and either it or ENGL 3840/3850, Intermediate Verse Writing, is required for the Creative Writing minor. Students may take ENGL 3820/3830 more than once.

Prerequisites

ENGL 2800 or 2810 and permission of instructor based on submission of a manuscript.
