Performing and Media Arts Summer Program in Europe

To enroll in Performing and Media Arts in Europe Summer Program, please complete the application (available from program director Byron Suber) and mail it to Department of Performing and Media Arts, 430 College Ave., Ithaca, NY 14850. The application can also be dropped off at the PMA office on the second floor of the Schwartz Center or sent via e-mail to pbs6@cornell.edu.

After receiving permission of the director and discussing the individual focus, students must submit a complete course enrollment form to B20 Day Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853, along with a nonrefundable deposit of $750 for the program.

Program charge

The program charge of $1,360 per credit covers tuition and a cultural program of lectures, tours, and performance costs. The program charge does not cover airfare, meals, books, or supplies.

Payment deadlines

Students must meet two deadlines in order to reserve their place in the program:

  • Deposit: Thursday, March 14, 2017
    A $750 nonrefundable tuition deposit, payable by check to Cornell University, must be received in the Summer Session office, B20 Day Hall, accompanied by a completed registration form no later than the deadline. Please write "PMA in Europe" in the notation line on your check.
  • Final Payment: Friday, April 28, 2017
    The balance of the tuition ($5,440 for four credits or $10,880 for eight credits) is due in the Summer Session office, B20 Day Hall. Make check payable to Cornell University and write "PMA in Europe" in the notation line on your check.

Air travel options and costs will be supplied in a separate hand-out and in e-mail updates. Students should plan to purchase their air tickets early. They should also purchase cancellation insurance.

Refund policy

To withdraw from this special program, you must notify the SCE registrar's office in writing. Your refund amount will be determined by the number of days from the start of the program that you withdraw.

Refund schedule (based on program start date):

  • Days 1–3: Withdrawal period with a 100 percent tuition refund
  • Days 4–5: Withdrawal period with a 50 percent tuition refund
  • Day 6: Withdrawal period with a 0 percent refund

If you want to appeal the refund schedule based on special circumstances, please download the petition form, complete it, and submit it to B20 Day Hall. The form will be reviewed by committee, and you will be notified if your appeal is approved.
