Cornell-China Undergraduate Summer Program

Summer 2016

Overview

We invite highly talented and motivated Chinese undergraduate students to Ithaca, New York, during the summer for an unparalleled academic, cultural, and social introduction to life at Cornell University.

In the Cornell–China Undergraduate Summer Program (CCUSP), qualified undergraduate students enroll in classes for Cornell credit alongside other Summer Session students, study with leading Cornell faculty members, and participate fully in cultural and social events on campus at one of the top universities in the world.

As a CCUSP student, you have four program options. You may take:

Two courses during the six-week session (June 25-August 9)

  • Option 1:
You will enroll in a specially designed 3-credit English course (WRIT 1101) to help you improve both your written and spoken English.
In addition, you will enroll in a second class of your choice for credit and, if granted permission, may visit (attend but not earn credit for) a third class.
Visit the Courses page to review your six-week class options.
  • Option 2:
Instead of enrolling in WRIT 1101, you will enroll in two courses of your own choosing and earn 6 to 8 Cornell credits.
This option requires the permission of the admissions committee, which will determine your eligibility based on your personal essay, English-language class grades, and TOEFL or IELTS scores.
Visit the Courses page to review your six-week class options.

One course during the first three-week session (June 25-July 16)

You will enroll in one class and earn 3 Cornell credits.

Visit the Courses page to review your class options for the first three-week session.

One course during the second three-week session (July 16-August 6)

You will enroll in one class and earn 3 to 4 Cornell credits.

Visit the Courses page to review your class options for the second three-week session.

A course from the first three-week session followed by a course from the second three-week session, for a six-week dual program (June 25-August 6)

You will select one class from the first three-week session, which runs June 25-July 16. You also will select one class from the second three-week session, which runs July 16-August 6.

This dual program will allow you to earn 6 to 7 Cornell credits during your six-week stay on campus.

Visit the Courses page to review your class options for the first and second three-week sessions.
