Tuition and fees

Once accepted into CPIU, you must pay your total program charge.

Six-week program charge (June 24–August 6, 2019)

  • $12,805 for six credits (covers $8,760 tuition, $3,337 campus-life fee, and $708 Cornell Student Health Plan)
  • $14,265 for seven credits (covers $10,220 tuition, $3,337 campus-life fee, and $708 Cornell Student Health Plan)
  • $15,725 for eight credits (covers $11,680 tuition, $3,337 campus-life fee, and $708 Cornell Student Health Plan)

Three-week session 1 program charge (June 24–July 12, 2019)

  • $6,415 for three credits (covers $4,380 tuition, $1,563 campus-life fee, and $472 Cornell Student Health Plan)
  • $7,875 for four credits (covers $5,840 tuition, $1,563 campus-life fee, and $472 Cornell Student Health Plan)

Three-week session 2 program charge (July 15–August 2, 2019)

  • $6,415 for three credits (covers $4,380 tuition, $1,563 campus-life fee, and $472 Cornell Student Health Plan)
  • $7,875 for four credits (covers $5,840 tuition, $1,563 campus-life fee, and $472 Cornell Student Health Plan)

Three-week 1 and 2, dual program charge (June 24–August 2, 2019)

  • $12,805 for six credits (covers $8,760 tuition, $3,337 campus-life fee, and $708 Cornell Student Health Plan)
  • $14,265 for seven credits (covers $10,220 tuition, $3,337 campus-life fee, and $708 Cornell Student Health Plan)

What the program charge covers

  1. Tuition, which includes enrollment in one or two credit-bearing Cornell University courses and most course-specific fees
  2. Cornell's Student Health Plan (SHP)*
  3. A campus-life fee, which includes

    • Housing in a Cornell residence hall
    • A full meal plan at on-campus dining halls
    • Local and on-campus bus pass
    • Academic workshops, social events, an off-campus tour, and other group activities

*To ensure that you have access to campus health services, you are required to enroll in Cornell’s Student Health Plan (SHP). For information about these services, review the "Health insurance and health fee" section of the summer Health page. To enroll, please visit the Student Health Plan (SHP) section of the to-do list.

Note: You should receive all required immunizations prior to arriving at Cornell. (Immunizations are not required for three-week students.)

What the program charge does not cover

  1. The cost of books or supplies
  2. Transportation to or from the program
  3. A $100 fee to activate your NetID charged by Cornell Information Technologies

Payment

Please submit payment for the full program charge through the School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions payment portal for international students at sce.flywire.com.(When setting up your Flywire account, use the same email that you used for your CPIU application.)

Flywire allows you to pay securely from any bank, generally in your home currency. Payment methods for CPIU through Flywire include domestic bank transfers, debit/credit card payments in your home currency, and electronic payments (including UPOP and Allipay.com).

When you make a payment through Flywire you can

  • Track your payment from start to finish
  • Save on bank fees and exchange rates
  • Contact their multilingual customer support team with any questions, day or night.

You are not officially enrolled in CPIU until your full payment is posted to your account.

Payment deadline

The total program charge is due in our office within five business days from the date of your acceptance letter. If you are admitted within a week before or at the application deadline, the total program charge is due on the day of your acceptance.

You are not enrolled in your classes or assigned housing until your total program charge is paid in full.

Refund policy

To withdraw from this special program, you must notify the CPIU office in writing.

If you want to appeal the refund schedule based on special circumstances, please download and complete the petition form and submit it to B20 Day Hall. The form will be reviewed by a committee, and you will be notified if your appeal is approved.
