The Prefreshman Summer Program is designed to help students prepare for the challenges of the freshman year at Cornell. Students are either required or invited to participate as part of their admission decision to attend Cornell.
Students generally enroll in regular summer-session courses; enrichment courses in areas such as writing, chemistry, or mathematics; and/or a college-achievement seminar. The actual course schedule for each student is determined by the student's college.
The program includes field trips, guest lectures, and a wide range of social and cultural activities. Participation is restricted to students selected by college or special-program offices. Students selected to attend will be notified by mid-April. Tuition and fees, and room and board charges for those selected are covered by the program.
