This teaching practicum prepares newly appointed graduate student instructors to teach in Cornell’s First-Year Writing Seminar program. Seminar discussions and readings on pedagogical theories and practices provide an overview of the teaching of writing within a disciplinary context. As part of the course, participants develop course syllabi, writing assignments, and lesson plans designed to be used in their own First-Year Writing Seminar.
