Olivia Healy

My internship at Children's Rights provided hands-on learning about many aspects of public interest law, including class action suits, policy reform, and policy briefings.

Children's Rights

Working an intern for Children's Rights enabled me to contribute to the successful class action lawsuits that the organization files in states across the nation in order to usher foster care policy reform. I worked to re-write an outdated complaint that had been filed against Rhode Island's Department of Children, Youth and Families and needed to be re-filed. Additionally, I created a policy brief outlining all recent trends in foster care policy in Rhode Island over the past 4 years. The work was incredibly hands on and gave me a great taste of public interest law.
