Overview

This is a field-mapping course in Argentina designed to fulfill the field requirement for college undergraduate or graduate students doing degrees in geological sciences and to provide a rigorous geological field experience for other qualified college students.

The minimum prerequisites are an introductory course in physical geology and a course in structural geology (EAS 3040 and EAS 4260 at Cornell). Some field experience through an introductory field course or field experience in another course is recommended. Spanish is useful, but not required. Lectures and explanations are in both English and Spanish.
