Refund schedule

A student who drops a course (see Add or drop classes), or who has an approved refund petition, may receive a tuition refund according to the prorated schedule below.

If you have questions about this process, please check with the Summer Session office when you submit your change-in-enrollment form or refund petition.

Course fees are nonrefundable. In addition, the summer Student Health Fee cannot be refunded after the third day of class.

If you want to appeal the refund schedule based on special circumstances, please download the petition form, complete it, and submit it to B20 Day Hall. The form will be reviewed by committee, and you will be notified if your appeal is approved.


Refund schedule

For courses in the three-week session

May 31 - June 2, 2017Course withdrawal period with a 100% tuition refund
June 3-4, 2017Course withdrawal period with a 50% tuition refund
June 5, 2017Course withdrawal on or after this date receives 0% tuition refund

For courses in the eight-week session*

June 12-14, 2017Course withdrawal period with a 100% tuition refund
June 15-16, 2017Course withdrawal period with a 50% tuition refund
June 17, 2017Course withdrawal on or after this date receives 0% tuition refund

For courses in the six-week session*

June 26-28, 2017Course withdrawal period with a 100% tuition refund
June 29-30, 2017Course withdrawal period with a 50% tuition refund
July 1, 2017Course withdrawal on or after this date receives 0% tuition refund

*Note: If you're registered in a four-week course in the eight-week session, in a three-week course in the six-week session, or in Chemistry 3570 or 3580, consult the Summer Session office for refund information.

Tuition-refund schedule for an online course

To drop an online course, you must notify the SCE registrar's office in writing. Your refund amount will be determined by the number of days from the start of the course that you dropped.

Refund schedule (based on course start date):

  • Days 1-3: Drop period with a 100 percent tuition refund
  • Days 4-5: Drop period with a 50 percent tuition refund
  • Day 6: Drop period with a 0 percent refund

Tuition-refund schedule for a special program

To drop a special program, you must notify the SCE registrar's office in writing. Your refund amount will be determined by the number of days from the start of the program that you dropped.

Refund schedule (based on program start date):

  • Days 1-3: Drop period with a 100 percent tuition refund
  • Days 4-5: Drop period with a 50 percent tuition refund
  • Day 6: Drop period with a 0 percent refund
