You should plan to arrive at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (airport code MSY) no later than 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, and depart after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13.
N.B.: For travel to MSY, you must make your own arrangements. Neither the instructor nor the School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions will be involved in making reservations or keeping track of funds.
The cost of the flight will vary depending on where you are coming from. From Rochester, NY, as of September 2017, the average round-trip fare is about $350.
To help with transportation costs, you may apply for grants through the Off-Campus Opportunity Fund. This site will give you one-stop access to the Engaged Cornell: Community-Engaged Student Travel Grant Program and, if you are eligible, to the Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives grant program. The deadline for applying to the Off-Campus Opportunity Fund is October 2, 2017.
If you need any information from the professor in order to complete the Off-Campus Opportunity Fund application, please don’t hesitate to contact him.
During the week in Baton Rouge, the professor will rent a large van and be responsible for all driving.
